4) Path alongside a stream
Many small streams run through the area cutting grooves across the landscape. |

5) Woods and Bracken
After passing Burns Farm this path runs alongside some covered reservoirs. |

6) Trees swept by the wind
The pathway passes to the left of these trees with great views towards the sea. |

7) Steep descent
These woods are on a steep bank where a pathway has been built towards the bottom. |
|
|
|
8) Grizedale Brook
After the steep descent this stream runs through Grizedale Valley from Harris End Fell. |

|
9) Scorton High Street
Halfway now, a well earned break can be taken at either The Priory to the right or The Barn on the left. |

|
|
10) Towards Nicky Nook
This is the start of the ascent of Nicky Nook where the views can be spectacular. |

11) Halfway up
The views to the west start to unfold with this view of Wyresdale park. |
|
|
|
12) The Summit
From here you have uninterupted views for a full 360 degrees. |

13) Fell End Farm
On the way down the other side the farm can be seen in the middle distance. |

14) Fell End pathway
At the base of Nicky Nook this path leads to the track where you turn right for the farm and left for Grizedale Valley. |

15) Looking back
Just before reaching Fell End Farm there are views back towards Nicky Nook. |

17) Harris End Fell
The views of this fell change with the seasons. The heather can alter the landscape considerably. |

|
|
18) Stake House Farm
This distant farm is on the edge of the fell and produces superb lamb and beef. |
|
|
|
19) Grizedale Bridge
Another ten minutes to the bridge puts you on the road back to Oakenclough and refreshments. |
